highmills is a transversal and multimodal research and development laboratory  in the fields of urban planning, architecture, and environmental technology made for the building industry. It was founded in 2022 by two architects and is based in Geneva and Bern, Switzerland.

 

 

highmills is dedicated to the strategy, planning, design, implementation and construction of hybrid architectural and technical energy production and storage infrastructures for high-density urban areas, cities, neighborhoods, blocks and buildings to increase their sustainability and energy independence.

 

 

highmills develops its pioneering research through design workshops, teaching units and visiting studios, exhibitions, ans publications, design research projects, and the development of prototypes and technical pilot and architectural devices on a 1:1 scale in situ through it's laboratory , highmills/Lab

It investigates the integration of technologies related to energy production and storage for the development of complete architectural and technical devices that are urban, technically, socially and economically viable.
